The Paradox of Education
There was a script for the purpose of education in plain sight, but colleges and universities missed and it is costing everybody even those who never entered any of the ivory towers.
The body content oTHE PARADOX OF EDUCATION
A good education is the key to success. This is my family and indeed many cultures’ mantra. You can expect anyone growing in that culture, who wants to be successful, and bring dignity and honor to the family, to work hard at getting the best education possible. Well, I did my best to get the best education possible, but something was still missing that I could not describe.
INTRODUCTION
This brings me to the paradox of education. That the promise of education in all its grandeur, campuses, big names, course offerings, athletics etc., missed the point of true education. Distrust in traditional education is becoming increasingly a perpetual transgenerational pathogen is our generation and will be for the coming generations unless the leaders of the world take a bold humble step to make the necessary correction and restoration.
THE PROMISE
The real promise and purpose of education, whether studying to become an accountant, a lawyer, an engineer, a doctor, a professor, a teacher, a politician, whether formal or informal education is to know the vision, intent, and purpose of God [VIP] for personal and professional life. Absent this, all education is at best under-value window dressing full of sound and fury signifying nothing.
For it is by knowing the VIP, that one could be successful as an entrepreneur, business professional, parent, community leader, and even politician, having freedom, living in abundance, making one’s unique impact, and feeling of happiness.
THE PROBLEM
The problem is not only missing the mark of the VIP, but it is expensive. Colleges and universities are charging students for an empty certificate that has little or overpriced and overpromised market value.
There is a current discussion by economists, about debt forgiveness, inflation, and depression. All that discussion would mean nothing until due attention is given by the experts to the vision, intent, and purpose of God in the economy of the world.
Until that happens, colleges and universities will still be producing graduates who cannot get a job, or who want to settle for any job out there, or who are working in a job they do not like, or earning income and building up the bank account, but feeling unfulfilled, or having a marriage they do not have time for, being full of undercurrent anxiety that something is missing in their lives but they cannot describe it.
It is the paradox of education, that for all the money, second mortgages on the house, borrowing money from friends and families, comparing and competing with peers as to whose child is in which most expensive college and university, traditional formal education has missed the whole point. All education formal and informal is about the VIP
ENTREPRENUERSHIP
Without the VIP, content of education has no value. It is an empty promise looking for takers. Without the VIP, one cannot conceptualize the content of education and if there is no concept, there is no authentic entrepreneurship and business.
Without the VIP, one cannot make impact and influence, but instead one could be unknowingly creating misinformation, disinformation, crisis, chaos, and confusion. This is a crazy cycle of passion for learning ending up in a paradox that what one is looking for is in plain sight, but the glassy eyes cannot see. Without the VIP, one cannot build a government or be a good citizen.
HAPPINESS
Abundance, freedom, and happiness have become elusive to most graduates. And heads of colleges and university have no answer. The process of education and the product of education cannot meet the demand in the society. So where is the value? It is a one-sided transaction inflated price of education on one side, and a deflated value on the other.
The alternative to happiness is to cope with the undervalue education and live an undervalue, unenterprising, unrealized promised, underpaid and under mission and under-living.
What we have on our hands is a sea of unhappy people, living on the edge of anxiety on one hand and depressed on the other. Mounting debts on the student and on the parents, lack of income to sustain themselves, still living at home, they may soon become part of the social budget of the government adding another layer of stress and obligation to foreign government
SOLUTION
Solution for the paradox of education, the nation at its edge, broken relationships etc., can be traced to the missing element of the VIP in our education system – The Divine Vision, Intent and Purpose of education. It is only by the grace of God that the few schools that recognize the VIP and those who have made it through those schools, recognizing and living by God’s VIP are able to sustain the society and keeping it from all wide disintegration of crisis, chaos, confusion, and anarchism.
What we need more of is a saturation of the VIP in the culture, in education, in family, in entrepreneurship and business.
The VIP is spiritual and practical for anyone who believe or curious about the existence of God and who is willing to know what part they can play in bringing peace, profit, and prosperity to the nations
I am passionate about speaking, teaching and coaching the VIP. If you conference organizer, a business owner who wants to discuss further how the VIP could be beneficial to your organization, please contact me.
